My Beloved Hometown Jepara

Let me introduce my beloved hometown, Jepara. A little town in Central Java, and at there i was born. Jepara is famous as Carving city or kota Ukir. There are so many furniture companies at there. The foreigner always look for the furniture. Our furnitures are famous in Indonesia and in the International. Most people in Jepara has profession as carpenter or carver. They made chairs, tables, cupboard, and anymore, and absolutely with ukir over it. The central carving  in Jepara is located at Tahunan and Kuwasen village. We can found all about carving at there.

Talk about tourism object, Jepara has many beach. There are Kartini beach, Bandengan beach, Benteng Portugis beach, and any else. Not only beach, Jepara also has a waterfall named Songgolangit waterfall.

Jepara also has some island, but the most popular is Karimunjawa island. Karimunjawa is located far from the central town, about 6 hours from Jepara by ship. Karimunjawa is famous with white sand beach, shark conservation, and diving location.

At jepara we can see the RA Kartini museum. At there we can see the property of RA Kartini.

Jepara has some traditional food, like Adon-Adon Coro, Gempol-Pleret, and Horok-Horok, a weird name right?, but the taste is very delicious, trust me!.

Every place always has a culture, at Jepara there are some traditional culture and tradional dance. The traditonal culture like Perang Obor, and Kupatan or Lombanan. For the traditional dance, Jepara has Emprak. Emprak is a drama with dance and song, it is look like Kethoprak from East Java. Unfortunatelly, Emprak almost fade away.

Not only tourism objects, traditional cultures and foods, jepara has a beautiful and famous hero, named Raden Ajeng Kartini. I think everybody knew about her, because her partisipation in women’s emansipation. She is one of heroes who had fought for emansipation of women. In the past, Jepara also has two beautiful an powerfull queen, they are Ratu Kalinyamatan and Ratu Shima.
